IAF Launches ‘Exercise Aakraman’ in Response to Escalating Tensions Following Pahalgam Attack

NEW DELHI: In a significant demonstration of air power and combat readiness, the Indian Air Force (IAF) has undertaken ‘Exercise Aakraman’, a major operational drill conducted across the central sector of the country. The exercise prominently features India’s frontline fighter fleet, with the Rafale jets taking a leading role in the high-intensity maneuvers.

The IAF currently operates two squadrons of Rafale aircraft, strategically stationed at Ambala Air Force Station in Haryana and Hashimara in West Bengal. These fourth-plus generation fighter jets, known for their agility, precision strike capabilities, and state-of-the-art avionics, are central to the ongoing exercise, which is aimed at simulating advanced mission profiles, including deep-strike operations, aerial combat, and rapid deployment scenarios.

While sources have emphasized that Exercise Aakraman is a part of routine operational preparedness, the scale and timing of the drill reflect the IAF’s continued focus on maintaining a high state of readiness amid evolving regional security dynamics. The drill also serves to validate the interoperability and coordination of various air assets in complex battle scenarios.

Further details on the nature and outcomes of the exercise are expected to be released in due course.

According to defence sources quoted by ANI, the advanced fighter jets are engaged in complex operations, including precision ground attack missions and electronic warfare exercises.
